So is that a workaround for parents who are working to support overweight teens shed pounds to stay healthy? Many physicians and nutritionists think more trials are important. In order to decide whether the keto meal is a long-term effective lose weight process. Melissa Fossier, a registered dietitian at teens’ Health, does not recommend the keto diet for teens. Unless it's used only for specific medical reasons.

Keto Diet

Initially, the ketogenic diet was developed around 1920 as a therapeutic treatment for epilepsy. Keto recently became a popular weight loss diet. This is a vegetarian diet with very low carbon content and a small level of protein.

Those who adopt a fading diet typically consume more fatty foods and do not reduce protein foods. E.g. butter, sugar, avocado, thick whip-cream, high-fat cheese, bacon, and fatty fish like salmon are popular keto foods  Also, the keto diet for Indians include nuts, eggs, leafy greens as well as other colored vegetables.

The Keto Diet includes none of the wheat, rice and pasta and sugar. It also includes quality olive oil, vegetable oils in reduced proportions. This saturated fat, low carbohydrate diet attempts to make the body ketosis.

The carbohydrates you ingest usually break down to glucose, a sugar that your body uses as energy. But the body does not generate as much glucose when you limit carbohydrates. As that happens, the body becomes obese as a store of energy and produces a material called ketone bodies. The body is in ketosis because there are high levels of ketone in the plasma.

“Body actually feels that it is in the state of starvation. It resorts to fat as a back-up energy supply. Which is one of the causes of weight loss." Fossier says.
